AMERICA: Through Foreign Eyes : Jermaine Baltimore

Traveling to the United States of America for the first time and even residing there can be a huge transition for most immigrants. For me, it has been an extreme cultural shock that I am still adjusting to. For this project I decided to describe three of my first-time experiences while living or visiting America, and how they compare to those back in the British Virgin Islands. The first blog discusses one of my most intense experiences in the subway, which is a totally new for of transportation for me. In this blog I described my first experience and how it contrasted with the more familiar forms of transportation. The second blog entails one of my favorite experiences, going to the mall. This was a thrilling one for me, and totally new, seeing that there are no malls back at home. My third video blog relates more to the cultural aspects of America and its citizens. I go into depth on the topic of manners in America and my reaction to it on a daily basis. On my fourth video blog, I wanted to find out other international students' views of America, so I decided to highlight some of their responses to three main questions about America.

This series of video blogs were compiled to give the viewer an overview of how it is for a foreigner to reside in America, and to make them aware of the similarities and differences in other countries. The project was completed with much interest and excitement, but was somewhat of a great task to cut it to two or less minutes.
