As World War II era South Pacific societies belived that imitating/worshipping the material goods of western economies would magically make those goods re-appear, we believe that by imitating the material goods of democracy, wealth and the American Dream, we would recieve those items. presented here is a linear staging of the evolution of South Pacific cargo cults contrasted with the nonlinear, modern staging of what might be an American cargo cult.
