Crash and Burn: The Fall of Max Payne [Pt.4] : Paul Beirne

This fourth installment delves into the physical aspect of Max Payne’s fight for justice. As explained in previous chapters, Max is ready to take the law into his own hands. Armed with firearms and a thirst for bloody revenge, Payne find himself taking down an evil empire of thugs, drug lords, and corrupt law enforcement with the backing of a million dollar corporation that feeds upon the underworld. Unlike the other trailers in the series, this one includes serious action scenes and gunfights that could only be pulled from a bigger budget production. The goal here was to integrate them with the other trailers seamlessly, in order to make the audience believe the action is part of the film in its later portions. Considering a completely different actor played Max in the action scenes who bares no resemblance whatsoever to myself, it proved to be quite a difficult task to cut and paste action scenes together that do not reveal the drastically different features of the character. Overall, I used more technical, artsy editing techniques in the chapter to mask the change of character and add a more visually stimulating aspect to the trailers, as this is the grand finale.
