Futile Truth : Nicole Dansby

The class assignment started out as a series of four videos to be video-casted in the blogsphere. Armed with a camera and a burgeoning desire to conquer my frustrations, I decided to film the inherent aggravation that is introduction to graphic design. In the first video my inspiration came from a real experience of mine. The movie pokes fun of the “agonizingly long” walk from one end of campus to the other only to find the very room I need access to is locked. The second video is a remix of the first and is used not only to describe my anger but as a transition to the first. My third video is a less than truthful account of my getting mugged for my graphic design portfolio. The fourth video is a masterpiece of anticlimactic cinema. Using footage of my actual graphic design class as well as the other three videos I composed a piece that pretty much sums up every other experience of my life. Oftentimes we build up in our imaginations a drama so fierce that it tugs at our emotional equilibrium only to find that the resolution is a depart from your hyper-reality. Life is always normal.
