My Reality... (reality 04) : Charles Walls

My Reality is not as normal as you may think, in this reality the line between the digital reality and the reality that we exist in is closer than you think. In the beginning we see our reality as a cage, we sit caged inside ourselves unable to extend ourselves beyond the limits of this cage. Once we tear through these cages we find ourselves in the digital reality, where we our free to rise and express our true being, a reality filled with endless connections and possibilities. Once we are established in this digital reality, it is time to bring the freedom of the digital reality into our own reality, turning our cage into a beautiful realm of light and potential. To create this piece I used the green screen technique to create the person that would travel through these realities. To create the static effects I used an image mask to overlay the static onto the person to make them an integrated part of this digital reality, and to show how they carry this into our reality. The effect of the cage was used from shooting video of a window screen, and to create the light at the end was the manipulation of this image using several different video filters.
