This project will explore my digital persona through emotions; the foundation of one’s personality. Emotions allow oneself to show their true personality or shield themselves from the rest of the world. For this project, the viewer sees what emotions stir up my digital persona by typing in certain emotions to gain a response. But as emotions are complex by nature, so are the esoteric responses (inspired by Fight Club and The Shining) that are given in order to make the viewer think. Each response is given in the same tone of voice in order to mask one overall personality but each video features a different angle to highlight each individual emotion. Underscoring the videos is a piece by Paul Lansky which underlines the fact that while one emotion is showing the rest of them are still around and can be shown at a moment's glance. The project focuses on the use of the symbol object primilarily and features the dac object also. Enjoy.
