This project is an artistic and documentary work; its main concept is based on the exploration and study of art in Shatila camp in Lebanon. The main objective is to expand the community of artists or what I call the Art Journalists who want to know more about the art of the different cultures and how it plays the role of the people's voice around the world. This project is a completion step for the DVD to create real interaction between people from different parts of the world and to be able to exchange comments and opinions about the issue. Therefore, the main message and purpose of this work is to create a bridge between Shatila community and the Western audience through art to show the power of art and media as a tool of communication. Art in Shatila camp is a medium of inspiration, hope, security, sense of community, self-expression, and strength for the Palestinian people who are seized from returning to their homes and families in their home country, Palestine. The only way for these people to communicate with the outer world is through a cyber cafe that they have, so by creating a blog they will be able to connect live with other members on the blog and their comments will be updated instantly. The blog includes material from the DVD piece, which has images of the art pieces on the camp walls. The main purpose of this project is to make the connection between the isolated Shatila camp and the outer civilized world and to create a communication medium through art and media so people of the world would have a clear idea of the capabilities of art and how it can help hopeless people to be strong and inspired. This blog will add to the interactivity between the two worlds of the East and West through exchanging cultures, opinions, and comments.
