The Real Virtual World : Ben Kuryk
The Real Virtual World is a project thats main goal is to make the viewer question what they see on TV and how authentic it truely is. In order to accomplish this I started with the idea of having a "virtual window" one that has a currton rod at the top, and can be used in the same way as a normal windows. The difference is that there will be no blinds hanging from the currton rod, All of the blinds and video are projected just below the hanging rod to make the window look seemless and real. For the video that is playing "behind" the "currtons' of the virtual window, it will switch randomly everytime the blinds are closed. The video randomly switches between many clips of the MTV's The Real World, and what is really on the other side of the wall that the rod is haning on. This is done just to add to the realism of the piece and make the viewers life feel more like it is being filmed for a reality TV show.
